Mulu Caves 1989

Following the success of the 1988 expedition a follow up expedition was mounted in October 1989 to continue the exploration of Blackrock Cave. A total of 25km of passages were explored and surveyed. Blackrock Cave was extended to 21km and was at that time the second longest cave in the Park. In Clearwater Cave a major section of cave, including the Clearwater 5 streamway, was discovered lying to the east of the Scumring Series. This brought the total length of Clearwater System to 75km, and the total length of surveyed caves in the Park to 192km.
